Young dancers thrive at Ballet Verona
There is something magical about watching young dancers perform. For them, being on stage is new and exhilarating, and you can’t help but be caught up in the excitement!
On Jan. 28, I had the pleasure of attending a performance of The Snow Queen by dancers from the Ballet Verona in Verona, NJ.
Alissa Levin, the owner of the Verona School of Classical Ballet, has been a long-time fan of Russian Pointe®. A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, Alissa loves the Russian Pointe® brand and encourages all of her students to wear Russian Pointe® shoes. “In my school, this is the uniform,” Alissa says.
For this production, Alissa ordered the Snow Queen’s costume and the other tutus from Russian Pointe®, as well.
Alissa has about 100 students in her school, and about 70 of them, mainly young, elementary aged girls, appeared in the cast of the Snow Queen.
Before the show began, Alissa invited me backstage as the girls were getting dressed, and it made me proud to see how Russian Pointe® was a playing a pivotal role in helping these children express themselves and become exposed to the arts.
It’s evident to me that Alissa is a very passionate teacher who is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children. I know her students made her very proud!
