At the Emmy Awards!

Attending the Emmy Awards in Los Angeles was a whirlwind experience that I won’t soon forget.

I was lucky enough to have purchased two tickets to the awards show for myself and my sister, Elizaveta, and we flew to Los Angeles for the Sept. 18 star-studded event.

The walk up the red carpet was truly a highlight! As we made our way to the entrance of the theater, we were only separated from the celebrities by a rope, and photographers and fans snapped pictures of all the stars.

Celebrities like Heidi Klum and Seal, Gwenyth Paltrow and Chris Noth (Mr. Big from Sex and the City) were just steps away from us, and I loved seeing all of the women in their beautiful evening gowns and the men dressed up in glamorous tuxedos.

Sitting in the theater itself was much different than watching it on television. It felt more like a college reunion than a performance, as everyone stood up during the commercial breaks to greet one another and take pictures for themselves.

A few seconds before the show was about to start again, the announcer would warn everyone to get back into their seats by saying something funny like, “If you don’t sit down, someone else will get your Emmy!” and everyone would rush to clear the aisles and sit down on cue.

The whole experience felt like having a backstage pass to one of Hollywood’s most prestigious events, and I’m so glad I had the chance to be there!
