Russia Day Celebration scheduled for June 13
For the third year in a row, I am pleased to announce that the Moscow Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International will be hosting a black-tie gala and business forum luncheon on June 13 in celebration of Russia Day.
The Russia Day celebration honors Russia’s national holiday, which is celebrated on June 12 and commemorates the day in 1990 when the Russian parliament formally declared sovereignty over Russia.
More than 300 prominent members of the Russian-American community and American business leaders are expected to attend the event, which will be held in the opulent Gold Coast room at the Drake Hotel.
The festivities will include an elegant sit-down dinner, as well as official speeches from Russian and American dignitaries, including Sergey I. Kislyak, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United States, and a cultural program featuring opera, ballet and choir performances.
As the chair of the Moscow Committee, I am proud to be part of this wonderful event, which is the only official celebration of Russia Day in the United States. I hope this event continues to inspire pride in the Russian-American community and helps to build bridges between the United States and Russia.
Individual tickets are available at $250 each. If you are interested in becoming a corporate sponsor for a donation of $1,000 to $10,000, please contact Aleksandra Efimova at ae@aleksandra.com no later than May 15.
