Celebrating a Russian-American company's 10-year success
This past weekend, I had the privilege of attending the 10th anniversary celebration of TMK IPSCO, a division of a Russian company that has its headquarters in Downers Grove, Ill.
TMK IPSCO operates in North America as a division of TMK, a global market leader in energy pipe production. The company operates 24 factories around the world, specializing in manufacturing pipes for oil and natural gas drilling and production. In the past ten years, the company has grown to become one of the top three global producers of steel pipe in the world.
To honor the company’s progress, TMK’s top leaders welcomed more than 400 guests to Chicago for a weekend of celebration.
The weekend began with a Civic Leadership breakfast, hosted at the home of TMK IPSCO Chairman Piotr Galitzine. Prince Galitzine has been a great supporter of mine over the years, and it was wonderful to attend an event that recognized his company and its achievements.
The breakfast was also attended by Sergey I. Kislyak, the Russian Ambassador to the United States, who spoke about Chicago’s business and political community and praised the company’s successful model for Russian-American business relations.
The festivities also included a gorgeous gala at the Art Institute of Chicago, which I attended on Friday evening.
I am always so proud to see companies grow, especially ones that do business in both Russia and the United States, and I wish TMK IPSCO continued success!
