Arts for Hearts

Recently, I had the special pleasure of autographing two pointe shoes that were auctioned off at the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Luncheon on Feb. 25.

Danielle Cortes DeVito, the honoree of the luncheon, reached out to me and asked me if I would donate the autographed shoes for the event.

Danielle is a professional speaker who inspires people to live a heart healthy lifestyle, the owner and founder of CPR Chicago, and a former Mrs. Chicago.

She is also a loyal Russian Pointe customer who comes to buy pointe shoes for her daughter at the Russian Pointe Dance Boutique. She and her daughter have made an annual tradition of attending the Pointe Shoe Decorating Valentine’s Day event and then having afternoon tea!

I was personally very touched that Danielle thought of asking me to donate Russian Pointe shoes with my signature on them to such a prestigious organization, and I was also proud to support such a good cause.
